A few days in Prague
For Pam's "special" birthday we spent a few days in Prague. A
really beautiful city.
It was quite cold and dull but no snow (a shame!). The sun did shine
though as can be seen here on the right.
These pictures were taken on Charles Bridge.
On the left below the Powder Tower and on the right a view over the
roof tops from the castle square the other side of the river.
We went to the Opera
one evening at the Estates Opera House
where Mozart himself premiered Don Giovanni. Very cheap by English
prices. The opera house on the left below - most ordinary from the
outside but very beautiful within. We visited Tyn Church and saw the
astronomical clock. Below right.
Two views inside the Prague Theatre of the Estates:-
The view of Charles Bridge from a bridge further down river.
The view of the Castle and Cathedral from the old town side of the
river. One of the wonderful windows in the Cathedral. (right)
We stayed in the Hotel Josef.
Thoroughly recommended.
Wenceslas Square
Old town square as evening draws nigh.
A view over the Czech Republic from our plane on the way home.
